Felling a Horse Chestnut in Caxton

November 26, 2015

Last week we were in Caxton, in Cambridgeshire, to take down a large Horse Chestnut tree.

This was a challenging tree because of the place it was situated in. An old garage, multiple phone lines, and a main road were just some of the challenges we faced. A lowering device was used to lower branches to the floor in a controlled manor.

This tree was under a Tree Preservation Order. We liased with Huntingdonshire District Council, who gave permission for the tree to be felled.

The reason the tree needed to come down was that it had lifted up the customers driveway, resulting in them being unable to open their garage doors.

The remaining stump was then ground out, so the driveway could be re-surfaced over where the tree once stood.
