Pollarding several large Horse Chestnut trees in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
This week we were in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, pollarding several large Horse Chestnut trees. We had previously reduced these trees for our client, however, this time we decided more drastic measures were needed due to them being so close to their house....some with the base of the tree only 1.5M away with several of them even touching the house! The customer didn't want to lose them all together, so we opted to pollard them to 15ft which was roughly a 50% reduction. The larger trees at the back of the garden were reduced by 20%, as they were further away from the house. The trees were completed within the day and the logs were left for the client to use to heat their home....for a good few years to come!
