Felling a very large and dangerous Horse Chestnut in St Neots, Cambridgeshire

Last week we were in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, felling a very large and dangerous Horse Chestnut tree. Following a meeting with the tree officer to inspect the tree, we discovered the tree was unsafe due to a crack in the bottom of the trunk. Instant permission was given to remove the tree. The carpark was closed and all residents were notified of the danger. This was considered an emergency, so we assembled a team for the coming weekend. We used a 10 tonne ratchet strap (for peace of mind) anchored to a nearby tree to hold the damaged tree in place whilst we dismantled it. We used two lowering devices in which to lower the very large branches in a safe and controlled manner. It took two cli

Pruning Pleached Lime trees in Great Paxton

This week we have been in Great Paxton in Cambridgeshire. We had a number of large hedges to trim and the circle of Pleached Lime trees at the front of the house. We used secateurs on the entire hedge, to prevent leaves from tearing and to make sure everything was cut to the correct point. It took two and a half days to complete. We were all very pleased with the finished result. The customers were very happy with the work and have asked for us to return in the autumn for another week. Foxton Tennis Courts

Yesterday we were in Foxton in Cambridgeshire, working for the Parish council. As you can see from the images below, they had a fairly small Conifer hedge which had been allowed to get out of control, making it too big of a job for the local villagers to handle! Our team of tree surgeons tackled the hedge (see picture below) and another one out of shot. We also removed a few nuisance Elder trees and poisoned the stumps to prevent them from growing back! This job took just over half a day and the tennis courts were left spotless! A lady living nearby benefited from some of the wood chip created from the job and we were rewarded with a lovely cup of coffee! If you have a similar job or any oth

Felling a dead Willow tree in Barrington, Cambridgeshire

Today we were in Barrington near Cambridge, felling a dead Willow tree. We didn't have to get permission even though the tree was in a conservation area, as the tree was dead. The customer was keeping the wood which made it a lot easier for us! A winch was used to pull the tree over and away from the outbuildings below the tree. We cleared up to our usual high standard, and you'd barely know we were there. Feel free to get in touch for a free quotation!
