Felling a large Willow tree in Godmanchester, Huntingdonshire.

This Saturday evening we were contacted regarding a potentially dangerous Willow tree. The customer was quite concerned about the tree and rightfully so! The tree had split at the base and was teetering on top of a conifer hedge and overhanging neighbouring dog kennels which housed 10 dogs. We were on site at 7.30am the following Sunday morning ready to fell the tree. Two experienced climbers dismantled the tree and it was on the ground by 12.30pm. The customer kept all the logs and they were cut into rounds ready to be split and used for firewod. The customers were very grateful for us coming out on a Sunday and at such short notice. However we were, in turn, extremely grateful for the baco

Felling a large Poplar tree in Offord D'Arcy, Cambridgeshire

Last week we returned again to the village of Offord D'Arcy in Cambridgeshire (our name is certainly getting around!) felling a very large Poplar tree. As you can see from the pictures, it was a massive undertaking. The customer had obtained several quotes to remove the tree and yet again, ours came back as one of the cheapest, so this combined with the knowledge that we do a thoroughly good job, they chose us! The tree was situated over a main road, so all the necessary health and safety measures were undertaken to ensure the tree was taken down safely and efficiently. The tree was dismantled and ready to fell completely within one day. The following day, after clearing the site of all ari

Felling a large Beech tree in Offord D'Arcy, Cambridgeshire.

Last week we were in Offord D'Arcy in Cambridgeshire felling a large Beech tree. We came recommended by their neighbour (who we will be returning to in the new year to reduce several large Beech and Lime trees.) The tree was felled due to its location and obvious signs of decay. This tree was so large that it's branches had spread over multiple gardens, which required the whole tree to be lowered slowly and safely to ensure nothing was damaged. The customers retained the majority of the wood to be used for creating items such as a bench, table and other smaller objects. Felling a large Oak tree in Hardwick, Cambridgeshire.

Last week we were in Hardwick near Cambridge, felling a large Oak tree which had split down the centre! The tree was considered a danger and needed to be removed urgently. As you can see from the picture, there wasn't a central leading limb, due to the trunk having split down the centre....this in turn made it much more of a challenge to work on the tree. Luckily, I have many years of climbing experience and I really love a challenge! The wood was then cut into manageable sizes for the customer to use for firewood. The tree was felled within the day and both gardens were left, as usual, as we found them. If you have a similar job, or any tree or hedge work required, do not hesitate to contac

Dead wooding and crown thinning five large Poplars.

Last week we were at Church Farm in Caxton Cambridgeshire, after a recommendation by Caxton Parish Council. This job involved crown thinning and removing dead wood from five large Poplar trees. The trees were precariously situated over an industrial estate and over Gransden Road (which is one of the main roads through Caxton). Careful measures were taken to ensure the safety of the public using the highway and the industrial estate. The trees were completed within the day and the site was left spotless. The owner of Church Farm and the Industrial estate were very impressed with our work and yet again we were praised for how tidy we left the site. If you have a similar job, or any tree or he

Felling a large hollow Willow tree in Comberton, Cambridgeshire.

Last week we were in Comberton, Cambridgeshire, felling a large Willow tree. The tree was hollow at the base, with very little outer healthy wood keeping the tree upright! The customer contacted us through their gardener who uses Charlie Vince Tree Surgery LTD for all of his tree work. The tree was dealt with safely, carefully lowering limbs which were hanging precariously over a neighbour's greenhouse! The logs were cut into rounds, ready to be split and used as firewood. The tree was felled within the day and all gardens were left as we found them , if not tidier! If you have a similar job, or any tree or hedge work required, do not hesitate to contact us.
